Have you ever wondered how Twitter users control their Twitter Feeds when they have 1000s and 1000s of followers? well the answer is they use Twitter Lists

But why do members allow their Twitter Feeds to get out of control?

Well, the answer to this question is to gain fo followers. The more members you follow the more follow backs you get. The result is a good follower total but it also means that you can miss the tweets that you really want to see on your feed because there is just so much content being shown from everyone you are following.

Twitter Lists is a really useful feature that allows you to group users together into a specific list. This allows you to then simply view a list as an alternative Twitter feed. You can have as many lists as you like and then just visit each feed by clicking on them.

How to subscribe to member lists

To subscribe to a member Twitter list you must first find them. And that takes a little clicking through profiles to find them

Go to the “lists” tab on any user’s page to see if they have any published lists. Be aware that not everyone utilizes this functionality, so you won’t find the lists tab on every profile that you visit, Once you have found a list that you want to start following, click on the title of the list. You will be taken to its main page. On the left side of the screen, you will see an option that allows you to subscribe to the list.

You can also find other lists that a user has created by clicking on the side of the list’s main page.

To unsubscribe from a list, you will need to go to your lists page to find the lists that you have subscribed to. Here you can click back to the list’s main page where you will find the unsubscribe button.

Members can also add you to lists. To see who has added to you go to your lists homepage and go to the “Member Of.” tab.You will also get notifications when you are added to Twitter lists.

Good advise for Twitter newbies to get organised. I am using lists for topics I am interested in since several years there as otherwise I would get confused indeed!
