Some questions for you

Do you want to be seen and become known for what you do?

Perhaps to just improve your writing and showcase it to a new audience to that of your own?

Are you a follower of our content and just feel you can contribute and add value?

These are all great reasons to seek out a guest blogging spot with us.

If you want to contribute for the right reasons then we will happily offer you a guest spot as a contributor and author.

However…

If you are on this page hoping to contribute and write for our site just for your own off-page SEO optimization then you are in the wrong place.

We do not accept guest posts for SEO reasons and if you are a blogger neither should you.

We also do not accept posts where you are trying to slip in a backlink for your own advertisers for their SEO campaign.

For our full submission guidelines click below and you will be fast-tracked to them.

Great post there Dexter, I’m just starting to accept guest posts
on wordsbyjustin.com so I’m having to learn what to look for with
    links etc.

Do you get many requests from guest posters as a matter of interest?

Yes, I get quite a few now but most of them just fall away because they don’t want to put effort into what they want to share showing it is just about the backlink.
The point of my guidelines is to weed out those who are guest blogging for the wrong reason and just for SEO.
If your gonna write a good long kickass post then no one minds if you then link to one of your own good long kick-ass posts. But if you are going to post 300 words and hope for a link then it ain’t gonna happen.
It takes too long to get traction to then wipe it out with bad guest posts.

Is guesting here something you are interested in?

Business’s now also acquire websites and other promotional marketing services in the internet that will generate high sales and inquiries in business.

  4. I’ve just started accepting guest posts on my site (and writing them for other sites) and I had pretty much followed these guidelines, although I personally prefer articles between 1200-1500 as my target audience are working mums who are trying to start or a blog or earn money online. In other words, they are BUSY! Long articles are great, but if they get too long I find that I tend to skim them anyway, and I’m sure my audience do too. Great tips, I’ve shared on twitter 🙂

1200 to 1500 is still a great length, I find that asking for more actually helps me find bloggers who are guest posting for the right reasons. Going to visit your site and tweet for you now 🙂

    Hey Dexter,
Good to be here again today.
You probably have touched on every point about guest posting here.

I like your point on long-form content to discourage link mongers. But I think most link seekers are getting it all wrong. If they produce long-form guest content, it will help their SEO if these get linked to by others or picked up by search engine.

I submitted about 3 guest posts recently and the shortest was over 1.5k words. I was accepting guest content with 800 words but the latest 3 I have from my readers are over 2k words each. Now I’m going to step up the word count limit just after this comment.

    Thanks for the beautiful post

    Hi Dexter,
I always learn something new from your articles, this one is no exception.
I just added guest posting guidelines on my site, I will check them again after reading your post.
I found the dofollow and nofollow content eye opening. “Authors who are insistent that all
their links are all dofollow, well then it really is just about SEO”
    Lots of great help here.

Guest blogging should be about expanding your readership from creating great content that is seen by a new audience. It is not about link building.

I have guest blogged several times, and actually I prefer having the rules and formats. It makes it easier to know exactly what the host wants, and how to be a polite guest. Just as guests in my home are welcomed back if they are polite guests, blogging is the same thing. Take off your shoes at the door, don’t leave towels on the floor, and always say thank you when you leave 🙂 . ~ Johanna

    HI Dexter,

I have allowed guest blogs on one of my web sites many times without thinking about all the ramifications. However, on my main web site I rarely allow guest blogs. Your information is most helpful. Now I am clear about what to allow and what to expect and to keep my eyes open about SEO articles that will actually hurt my Google ranking.

Thank you for all that info! Some of that stuff is new to me so it was helpful!

I have a lifestyle blog that focuses on how women in general, and moms in particular, can live a healthy lifestyle. I share recipes, health and fitness tips, real life examples of how it is possible to stay on track and I also share stories of motherhood. I would love to contribute to Info Bunny’s health and fitness section!

Thanks for the interesting article. Surprisingly, many beginners and even experienced bloggers do not know what guest posts are. But this is an affordable method of attracting traffic, getting back links and high-quality content.

    Hi Dexter,

Your guest blogging submission guidelines are well understood. Setting a minimum of 2,200-words is ideal since it helps to sift out those who want to contribute only for the sake of backlinks. But it makes sense as Google loves long-form content. They have more keyword variations and vital information for the reader.
Nevertheless, I will like to submit or contribute guest posts. I will contact you through your contact page concerning the post material.
Thank you for sharing this information!
